10 Most Infamous Wrestling Shoot Interviews

9. Paul London & Brian Kendrick Expose WWE

Back in 2010, Paul London and Brian Kendrick recorded a shoot interview in a cloudy haze of smoke, beers in hand. It was absolutely remarkable.

The content they willingly volunteered was genuinely unhinged, but it was the casual who-gives-a-damn of it all that was so shocking; there were so few places to work and make serious money back then, and yet, after sparking up, they tossed the match onto the nearest bridge.

They had been driven to madness by the WWE system, and could only giggle in disbelief when asked for their thoughts on it.

Infamously, they spoke extensively about Chris Benoit, framing the murderer as a sadistic lunatic who would control the diet of his travelling partners and attempt to coerce them into sexual acts with waitresses for his own titillation. They were chillingly pragmatic about the double murder suicide, too, saying that - contradicting the “devoted family man” narrative - they knew instantly what had happened.

The irreverence of the tone was shocking.

An aspiring wrestler is told to respect the veterans - that is the first and most significant thing they are told - and yet Kendrick described the sensation of hearing that the Undertaker had been set on fire at Elimination Chamber as being “in heaven”.
