7. Best Friends Endure Teddy Hart

Chuck Taylor and Trent used to host a shoot interview series that was more “shoot the breeze” than “shoot on your enemies” entitled, aptly enough, ‘Best Friends’.

They made friends with Teddy Hart once. They’d have been better off making friends with Dennis Reynolds.

Chuck and Trent basically happened upon the idea when they encountered Teddy, thought it might yield some wild content, and were all too correct in their assessment.

Teddy Hart is so intense and weird and admits to so many heinous things that, at one point, Trent literally spills his drink because he’s so nervous.

Teddy starts by saying he knows everybody laughs about him behind his back in a phenomenally awkward tone-setter. He then - in a pause-free stream-of-consciousness monologue - fantasy booked horrendously problematic storylines complete with abhorrent slurs, admitted to dealing drugs, and, silencing the room before claiming he was innocent, said he’d been jailed for rape.

Chuck Taylor wanted to be anywhere else.

If, in that very moment, you had offered Chuck Taylor a way out - but he’d have to fly to Louisville for a week and listen to an in-person Jim Cornette rant for 168 hours - he’d have offered to buy the Sprite.
