10 Most Infamous Wrestling Shoot Interviews
5. Kevin Nash, Various
Kevin Nash was born for the shoot interview circuit; a witty and engaging presence, on it, he got to tell wrestling stories without taking a single bump.
It’s little wonder, then, that there are too many interviews from which to draw. While he was mostly cool and funny, most infamously - to the cost of their relationship for a long time - he accused the Rock of being gay, as if that’s a bad thing.
One Nash shoot quote has since become infamous indirectly. He was asked about Bret Hart on Kayfabe Commentaries years ago.
He wrestled Bret in a Cage match at In Your House: Rage In The Cage. At the finish, Undertaker was to burst through the mat and drag Diesel to hell, or whatever, ahead of their semi-main at WrestleMania XII. Nash wanted to give Bret the Jackknife powerbomb just before the interference; the match with ‘Taker would have meant more, had ‘Taker cost Diesel a real chance at winning the WWF title. Bret, allegedly, expressed his concern that it would make him look weak, beaten.
According to Nash, ‘Taker - in a rare display of anger - screamed “Motherf*cker, not everything is about you!”
CM Punk, who has patterned much of his return work around Bret Hart, used this anecdote as an easter egg in his SummerSlam 2024 match with Drew McIntyre. Seth Rollins, without the expletive of course, said this exact thing to Punk in that hugely divisive match in Cleveland.
