Here's another gem from Prichard's back catalogue.

In late-1991, The Steiner Brothers burst onto the WWF scene as a good-natured babyface tag-team. Bruce believed the company might be best-served by splitting the bros up and running with Scott as a singles sensation, but McMahon didn't get it.

Both Prichard and Pat Patterson thought Scotty Steiner would be a neat surprise pick as the 1993 Royal Rumble winner. Then, they reasoned, he could go on to 'Mania IX and battle Bret Hart in a mega-match for the World Title. Again, the main man wasn't sold - he offered up one simple reason: "Brothers don't fight".

Vince's lieutenants were stunned. Prichard pointed out that siblings warred all the time, and Pat repeated the potential that Steiner had. It all fell on deaf ears, and McMahon decreed that hand-picked monster heel Yokozuna should win the match instead after a lengthy argument.
