In yet another reminder of why Bret Hart still holds the undisputed moniker of being "The Best There Is. The Best There Was. And The Best There Ever Will Be", WrestleMania VIII very much acted as a night of two blade jobs, with The Hitman's version ultimately saving him from the wrath of his boss.

Ric Flair on the other hand wasn't quite so lucky as The Nature Boy defiantly disobeyed Vince's edict regarding not intentionally shedding blood under any circumstances on The Grandest Stage, producing his trademark crimson mask in his WWE Championship contest with Randy Savage.

Sure enough, McMahon was p*ssed at his mid-card antics on the night, reportedly even being on the edge of firing the former WCW man on the spot for his arrogant use of the bloody tactics.

Hart on the other hand had subtly crafted his blade job earlier on to make it look like he'd actually produced colour hardway, only revealing as such in his book later down the road. And thanks to his excellent execution during his Intercontinental Championship match with Roddy Piper, Bret got off scot-free.
