10 Most Influential British Wrestlers Ever (According To An American)

10. Nigel McGuinness

British Bulldog
Ring of Honor

He could brawl. He could work. He could talk. Whether we're talking about the dynamic spiky-haired force of nature in Ring of Honor or his more refined, vicious, and deliberate Desmond Wolfe persona in TNA, Nigel was the consummate wrestler's wrestler, as tough as he was technically sound.

Although his potential to influence new fans in WWE was tragically cut short by lingering injuries and other circumstances, he now has a chance to impart some of his wisdom as a commentator on NXT (as well as events like the UK Championship Tournament).

It might be premature to list him, given that his heyday in the ring wasn't all that long ago and he's probably not on the top of any current wrestler's list of influences, but give it time. He will no doubt be seen as a man many wrestlers modeled themselves after in the years to come.
