...and he, of course, is not allowed a comeback either.

In this promo, Ambrose trots out some unfunny but inoffensive pretend complaints about not receiving a parade welcoming him as WWE champion. Just as he's about to hard-sell the main event of the television broadcast Stephanie McMahon is overseeing, the Princess herself interrupts.

Despite seemingly turning face on the previous edition of RAW, she admonishes Ambrose here for his unkempt, lopsided and generally 'appalling' look, disclosing her embarrassment that Ambrose is champion. Ambrose, unlike Charlotte, earns his victories the hard way, but that isn't enough to appease Steph, who on this evidence doesn't seem to like anybody at all.

Why she seems so desperate to run a sports entertainment company is beyond comprehension. She barely even liked Seth Rollins during their tenure together in the Authority in 2014-15, and he was her 'man'. Why is she so bothered about Shane usurping her role as chairman-elect when she patently doesn't want to be there?

It's hard to decide what's worse - that Steph questioned why one of her biggest babyface stars would receive autograph requests, or the terrifying threat of yet another heel authority figure vs. babyface feud...
