Poor Rey Mysterio, he really paid a price for wrestling such a high-flying, exciting style. The warning signs began to appear in the late 90s, when Rey suffered his first of many ACL tears. The masked man went under the knife in January 1998, taking six months off. He needed to book another surgery in 1999, when he suffered another major injury during the filming of the legendarily bad wrestling movie Ready to Rumble, of all things. A few months into his WWE run, he required minor knee surgery, which kept him out for a couple of months. During an interview that was shot for WWE home video at the time, Rey claimed his knees had been operated on many, many times. Indeed, it's hard to get an accurate picture of just how many times Rey's frail knees have been worked on, but needless to say it's a lot. Rey required almost a year off between autumn 2006 and summer 07 due to another major knee surgery. Another major knee operation followed in 2011. Amazingly, Rey had needed the op for over a year, but gutted it out for the 'good of the team'. 2013 saw Rey take even more time off (eight months) due to knee trouble. Besides knee injuries, Rey has suffered wear and tear elsewhere: a serious bicep injury in 2008 put him out for several months. In 2003, Rey was left badly shaken (and needed time off) after Big
