Shinsuke Nakamura had the advantage when he and Samoa Joe went to the outside near the end of this match. He charged toward Joe but the Samoan had enough sense to shove the ref out of the way and kick Nakamura in the crotch.
That kick set up this slam onto the steps, which then served as the precursor to Joe's surprising victory in this NXT Championship Match.
