10 Most Insane Vince McMahon Lies WWE Fans Fell For

8. The Annual Survivor Series Con

"Survivor Series is the one night per year that the Superstars of Raw and SmackDown compete head-to-head!"

This was demonstrably untrue b*llocks for a plethora of reasons.

Firstly, more than half of them aren't Superstars. They just exist, wrestling in front of onlookers so passive that they might as well have connected to a digital video wall via broadband internet.

Secondly, the "Superstars" of Raw and SmackDown compete head-to-head in the Royal Rumble match before one even begins to tackle the inconsistencies presented, with zero regard for the fan's intelligence, across the WWE TV cycle.

While this is a thing of the past - or at least an aberration of 2022 in the event that Vince McMahon takes back creative control, at which point you can kiss your ponderous 45 minute babyfaces-get-the-advantage WarGames "epics" goodbye - Vince laughed in your face for years with this nonsense.

The vast majority of fans rolled their eyes at the marketing. The talent in recent years buried the loose concept in media interviews too. But fans did buy tickets to these shows, which were so bereft of stakes that they were effectively pre-season friendlies.

Examples of WWE breaking this self-imposed "rule" are too numerous to mention, and they even stopped bothering with the "quarterly brand-to-brand invitational" loophole after a while.
