10 Most Jaw-Dropping Wrestling Giant-Killings
3. Shelton Benjamin Beats Triple H - Raw 2004
The Gold Standard. Member of the Hurt Business. Momma's Boy. Before Shelton Benjamin was any of these, he wrestled as part of The World's Greatest Tag Team alongside Charlie Haas.
Following their break-up in the 2004 draft, a young Shelton arrived on Raw with hope in his heart. Then he ran into Triple H.
This was usually death for any aspiring young babyface in the mid-2000s. The H Man had an iron grip on the main event scene at the time and rarely lost matches, especially not cleanly.
That all changed when Benjamin faced The Game on March 29th.
After a great match, the young athlete hit Trips with a corner splash and rolled him up to score a massive upset win. Here was a guy, new to the brand, who had just taken down one of its biggest stars. Surely they had to do something with this?
Well, not really. Benjamin picked up a couple of Intercontinental and United States title wins off the back of beating Hunter, but many to this day feel that his full potential was never reached.
At least his mom still loves him.
