8. Abyss

Back in 2006, Abyss had a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to work alongside The Undertaker - at WrestleMania, no less. With his contract expiring, John Laurinaitis wished to bring the big man in, seeing his gimmick as the perfect foil for 'the Phenom'. Yet Abyss rejected the chance, dismissing claims of stage fright whilst stating he wished to remain loyal to TNA.

Eight years later, there is no doubt about Abyss' devotion to the company, as he looks set to stick by them to the very end. With TNA set to disintegrate, now is surely the last chance for 'the Monster' to make the move across to WWE. At the age of 42, any prospect of a huge marquee tie against the likes of The Undertaker have all but evaporated, but Abyss could still have something to offer even at this late stage in the game.

His massive six foot eight frame is likely to be hugely appealing to Vince McMahon, and one can see him stepping in opposite fellow monster Kane. It's now or never for the big guy.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
