9. Bob Backlund Demonstrates The Crossface Chickenwing
Date: Multiple times in 1994 If you were a child or a teenager growing up in 1994, there probably wasn't anyone on the planet that you thought was more clinically insane than Bob Backlund. That probably stands for kids and teenagers growing up in 2015, too, come to think of it. 1994 was an interesting year for Backlund. He came out of nowhere to win the WWF Title in November, which was his first time holding the belt since 1983. Yes, he lost the title less than a week later in under ten seconds, but the fact that he had it at all is the story. He went from being the "All-American Boy" to being a cranky old man, character-wise. He would "snap" at the drop of a hat, locking his finisher, the Crossface Chickenwing, on any poor soul who was nearby, and that included a staffer for WWF Magazine on one occasion. It was different, and it was terrifying. It helped to take a 45-year-old man who most thought couldn't play a heel, and turn him into one of the most hated men in wrestling for a period of time.
