Then, during her stint as the Raw General Manager, she started a tryst with John Cena. In a Raw main event match between Ziggler and Cena, AJ ran to the ring to prevent Ziggler from untying the top turnbuckle. The subsequent distraction helped Cena make the pin, and in the post match celebration, Cena and AJ shared a steamy kiss in the center of the ring.
