Samoa Joe left TNA Wrestling earlier this year after spending nearly a decade there. As soon as he left, fans wanted him to go to WWE. There were all kinds of rumors that it "might" happen, but nobody really knew for sure. Plus, he's 36 years old with a body type that WWE normally doesn't like, so even the most optimistic fans thought that it was unlikely. At the end of the NXT Takeover: Unstoppable event on May 20, Kevin Owens decimated his former best friend Sami Zayn. Officials had to get Owens to stop, but then that's when Joe made his NXT debut. The Orlando crowd went wild at the sight of the Samoan Submission Machine in an NXT ring as he stared down Owens, who backed off without a confrontation. While some might argue NXT isn't the big time, in terms of quality shows it's the best thing going in WWE. A few years ago Joe may not have wanted to go to NXT. Things have changed because of how much NXT has improved as its own brand within WWE. Samoa Joe in WWE is a big deal because of his history in the business as well as how long it took him to get there and the good thing is he's only just getting started.
