7. Shawn Michaels & Mr. Perfect Brawl In The Street
Date: May 10th Pro wrestling was changing right before our very eyes. It was becoming wilder and more unpredictable, and Raw was trying to deliver on the "anything can happen" (more on that later) vibe. They wanted to approach the sport in a different fashion, and present it to audiences in a new way. Shawn Michaels and Mr. Perfect brawling in the middle of the street in New York City? That's the perfect way to make things appear different. To the fans watching at home, it looked legitimate. It looked like Michaels and Perfect were actually fighting. It didn't feel like a "wrestling angle". It wasn't something that lasted very long, but it left a lasting impression, and it left people wanting more. They wanted to see Perfect VS Michaels, but they wouldn't get it for three months after the brawl took place, and the match was a tremendous disappointment, considering who was involved in it. However, that's a different story altogether, and shouldn't take too much away from the brawl segment itself.
