10 Most Memorable WWE Raw Moments From 1995

2. The Debut Of Goldust

Date: September 25th There are many unofficial dates for the beginning of the Attitude Era, ranging from the 1996 King Of The Ring (Steve Austin's "Austin 3:16" victory speech) to the 1997 Survivor Series (the Montreal Screwjob), and even to WrestleMania 14 (Austin winning the WWF Title for the first time), but September 25th, 1995 seems like as good a date as any to label as the true start. Goldust's debut vignettes were edgy, presenting a character unlike anything anyone had ever seen before. Wrestling, and society as a whole, happened to be moving in a different direction. The WWF needed to capitalize on that, especially with WCW arriving on the Monday night scene with a product that wasn't really being geared towards children and the younger demographic. With Goldust, the company began to capitalize on it, and it was the beginning of greatness. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3j9KFh_5cDs You could say that without Goldust's success, there might not have been room for Austin to do what he did, or for Degeneration X to do their thing. Goldust will never get the proper amount of credit that he deserves for making the gimmick work from day one.
