Date: January 9th Here in 2015, WWE is accused of being out of touch and unaware of the wants of their viewers. Back in 1995, when Vince McMahon decided it would be a good idea to put legendary ring announcer Howard Finkel and manager Harvey Wippleman in a match against each other where the only way to win was to strip your opponent down to their underwear, you could have accused him of the same thing. It would be difficult to picture any wrestling fans, male or female, that were eagerly anticipating seeing either of those men in their underwear. It's understandable that wrestling is often about fun and being silly, especially in the 90's, but this just came across as some weird inside joke that nobody else was privy to. It's memorable, but for all the wrong reasons, unfortunately. It was a chore to get through, and you have to imagine the only people laughing were Vince himself and maybe Pat Patterson. It may sound sexist or like a double standard to some, but it made sense when the WWF would have Bra & Panties Matches with their Divas. You're targeting towards the demographic, especially during the Attitude Era. You're giving the people what they want to see. Novel concept. This Tuxedo Match nonsense, however, was not doing any of that.
