Date: October 23rd Those who were watching the WWF product back in 1995 will probably agree with this statement... Ahmed Johnson was supposed to become a huge star. He was jacked, he was cool, and he had the "it" factor that is needed to make it to the top. No, he wasn't exactly a technical master in the ring, but fans still loved him. In a way, he was a throwback to many of the top names from the 80's. Had he not gotten bit by the injury bug (repeatedly), you have to think he could have achieved more than simply winning the Intercontinental Title one time. From his debut, slamming Yokozuna, and almost immediately being involved in matches and angles with some of the top names on the roster, it just seemed Ahmed was destined for great things. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LAM4hg9FdNA It's almost weird to think about how he would have become the company's biggest black star, even before The Rock came around and did his thing, but it was a very distinct possibility. He was getting some of the biggest face pops in all of wrestling for a while, even with his obvious "weaknesses", but those pesky injuries prevented something special from taking place.
