10 Most Memorable WWE Raw Moments From 1998

3. Paging Dr. Austin

Date: October 5th After The Undertaker and Kane injured him, Vince McMahon had to be laid up in a hospital to get his "broken ankle" fixed. Even if you were a youngster watching back then, you knew Steve Austin would be around to make Vince's life worse, but how would he accomplish that? It was another story that built and built within a single episode of Raw, with multiple segments happening and taking us to the "climax". The Attitude Era catches a lot of flack for its flaws, and for how a lot of it hasn't been able to withstand the test of time, but that is something they often did right. After spending time in the hospital with Mankind (including the debut of Mr. Socko), Vince was left all alone, with nobody to protect him. Austin picked the proper time to strike, and dressed up like a Doctor, he pounced, attacking Vince while he was prone in his hospital bed. Vince sold it like only he can, screaming and flailing around like a fish out of water. The highlights of the segment included Austin hitting Vince in the head with a bedpan, producing one of the funniest sounds you'll ever hear in wrestling, as well as attempting to stick an IV tube up Vince's backside. Just an absolutely ridiculous (in a good way) segment that saw Austin and Vince playing their roles to perfection.
