Date: June 7th As the Ministry Of Darkness story continued on, wrestling fans would learn that The Undertaker was following orders from a "Higher Power". Taker and Paul Bearer looked like evil personified on WWF programming, but if they were being controlled by someone even more evil than they were, that person must be the Devil himself. In a way, he was. When Vince McMahon was revealed as the "Higher Power", it set off some very passionate responses from wrestling fans. On one hand, it was the reveal that made the most sense because of how great a heel Vince is and how much people want to hate him. On the other hand, it meant that Vince choreographed the kidnapping of his own daughter in a storyline. It didn't make any sense to many viewers. Those people felt that it was a disappointing plot twist. Many of them were expecting someone new to show up and be revealed in the role, but when it was Vince, it was the "easy" choice. It didn't really end up with Vince being this satanic leader for the group. It was merely a way to turn him heel and he was off yet again.
