10 Most Mind-Blowing Wrestling Secrets Of 2023

8. Nigel McGuinness Is READY

As seamless as Nigel McGuinness' step into the AEW commentary booth has been in 2023, it came amidst rampant but unconfirmed speculation that he had another role in mind too.

Just ahead of the historic All In London show, the former ROH Champion posted an image of himself in fabulous shape, sporting brand-new gear and looking even more ring-ready than when he emotionally wrapped it all up in 2011. McGuinness confirmed he was good to go, generating speculation that a long-teased showdown with old rival Bryan Danielson had quite literally been on the cards before 'The American Dragon' himself was forced off the show with injury.

There are lights at the end of these respective tunnels - a best-kept-secret in 2023 could be a best-built match in 2024, not least with Danielson expressing his desire to wind down sooner rather than later. Wembley is waiting yet again, and if Nigel is still In It To Win It, the two might yet get one final chapter to add to their classic story.
