Story: In 2006, Booker T and Dave Batista were both scheduled to work together on a SummerSlam promotional shoot. The previous year, Batista had rubbed many of his peers the wrong way due to his attitude. When holding the World Heavyweight Championship, the 'Animal' was supposedly very arrogant, and believed his own hype tenfold. Booker didn't take to this kindly, because he believed there should be mutual respect. After Batista said something derogatory to Booker at the shoot, the ex-WCW star responded negatively, and things got heated. Eventually, Booker T had to be pulled off a prone Batista, but not before peppering him with legitimate punches and shots. Why People Believe It: This was a big story when it broke in 2006. There was a lot of attention paid to the idea that Booker beat down Batista, and was thus praised by others in the WWE locker room for standing up to Dave's ego. Further to that, fights are nothing new in the pro wrestling industry, tempers can become flared very easily. It's not a story that's difficult to believe. Should We Believe It: Whereas it's true that both Booker and Batista traded fisticuffs, exactly who came out the better is up for debate. Generally, most believe that it was Booker T who had the upper hand, but former WWE star Finlay has offered a different take on proceedings. According to Finlay, Batista gave as good as he got.
