10 Most Notorious Booker T Urban Legends

7. TNA Wanted To Re-Sign Him For Main Event Mafia Reunion

Story: During his time in TNA from 2007-2009, Booker T was a featured part of the promotion's plans. As part of the 'Main Event Mafia' faction, Booker was relied upon to carry the group's TV and Pay-Per-View output. After Booker left TNA, the stable stayed around in some form or fashion, before disbanding. Stories emerged online in early-2011 that TNA were interested in re-hiring Booker to put the original Main Event Mafia back together again. Instead of doing so, Booker T signed with WWE and worked as a surprise entrant in the 2011 Royal Rumble match. From there, he became a colour commentator and hasn't looked back since. Why People Believe It: It's entirely plausible that TNA would be interested in working with Booker T again. WWE didn't seem likely to use him as a full-time wrestler in 2011, so that was something TNA could offer him. The story seems to make sense, because the Main Event Mafia did make a return in early-February. Booker T would likely have played a big role in that storyline. Should We Believe It: Yes, it seems entirely likely that TNA wanted Booker T to return to the promotion. Unfortunately for them, both Booker and Kevin Nash decided against re-joining TNA. Both wrestlers signed with WWE instead, and appeared at the Rumble as aforementioned.
