https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GWRpQOeWvS4 The Legend: That Eddie Guerrero suffered a fatal heart attack during a match and died in the ring. Why People Believe It: Because people are stupid. Well, that and videos like the one posted above. Eddie Guerrero collapsed during a Eddie/Rey/Rob Van Dam versus The Dudley Boys/JBL six-man tag match on the May 20th 2004 Smackdown. The collapse was, of course, not real. The explanation for Eddie's collapse was not a heart attack, but due to the blood loss he had suffered a few nights earlier during his claret-filled WWE Title defence against JBL at Judgement Day. Eddie was legitimately weakened and had to take a few shows off to recover form the effects of the blood loss. Is It True: No, of course it's not. The fact that so many people comment on the videos saying that Eddie actually died in the ring is worrying. It's another case of people believing what they see/read on the internet and not looking at the facts. For those people: do you really think WWE would air footage of a wrestler actually dying during a match? WWE may be exploitative but they're not that exploitative.
