Story: When he eventually found fame as Jake 'The Snake' Roberts, the man became well-known for carrying massive reptiles to ringside with him. Over the years, Jake had several of the big pythons, with his most famous being 'Damien'. Snakes became a massive part of the wrestler's character, and played a huge role in many of his feuds. Perhaps unbelievably, Roberts detested snakes. One thing the guy especially hated was having to carry them around and look after them whilst on the road. However, they were such a big part of his overall appeal that he knew he had to put up with them. Why People Believe It: Not everybody is a fan of snakes, and being on the road must have made it hard to deal with them. Roberts was responsible for the animal's well-being, and for transporting to and from shows. After a few years, that must have taken a toll. Should We Believe it: No, Jake Roberts didn't outright hate snakes. The man has said in shoot interviews that he tired of carting them around with him, but he didn't have a fear of the reptiles whatsoever.
