10 Most Notorious Jake Roberts Urban Legends

3. Andre The Giant Farted On Him Routinely During Matches

Story: One of the biggest men in the history of the industry, nobody was going to tell Andre The Giant what he could or could not do inside the ring. By 1989, Andre was reaching the end of his infamous career, and he didn't trust a whole load of people. Somebody the big man did enjoy working with was Jake Roberts. Despite having a good time working a feud with Roberts in '89, Andre couldn't resist having a little fun with 'The Snake'. A consummate professional during the pair's WrestleMania V match, Andre ribbed Jake pretty good on the house show circuit. Sitting on Roberts so that he couldn't move, the giant expelled gas onto Jake, laughing as he did so. This happened on a nightly basis. Why People Believe It: Andre was somebody who liked to have fun with wrestling. Towards the end of his career, he wasn't especially mobile, and was miserable on the road. Therefore, it's entirely feasible that he enjoyed having fun at the expense of his friend. Should We Believe it: This is something Jake Roberts has laughed about as he discusses now. Apparently, according to the victim himself, this actually happened. It must have been horrendous to be on the receiving end, but Jake stated that Andre was simply a fun-loving big man who viewed it as a harmless prank.
