2. Chris Jericho Was Originally In WrestleMania 2000 4-Way
Story: "Retiring" following his loss to Triple H in a Hell In A Cell match at the No Way Out 2000 event in February, Mick Foley was back in a WWF ring less than a few short months later, appearing as himself in the main event of WrestleMania 2000. Joined by The Rock, Big Show and WWF Champion Triple H, Foley was originally never scheduled to be part of the match. Instead, the slot was ear-marked for relatively newcomer Chris Jericho, but the Canadian was pulled from the bout to make way for Foley, and instead starred in an excellent Triple Threat encounter against both Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit. Understandably miffed that he'd been removed from the main event for someone who had seemingly retired, Y2J was none too happy about the whole ordeal. Why People Believe It: In one of his books, Jericho displays the original poster for 'Mania 2000, one which shows him alongside The Rock, Big Show and Triple H. This seems to suggest that he was the one originally intended to be part of the main event bout, not Mick Foley. Should We Believe It: Whilst Chris Jericho seems to have been the one listed for the main event to begin with, it's still pretty unclear exactly when he was pulled from the match. Yes, it's true that he was, but was he pulled to make way for Foley, or was he removed for other reasons? Jericho says himself in the book that he hadn't exactly got off to a running start in the WWF since August, 1999, so maybe the company had lost faith in him and changed their minds?
