10 Most Notorious Stone Cold Steve Austin Urban Legends

5. He Was Asked To Wrestle Triple H At WrestleMania 30 And Said No

Story: Wrestling fans are clamoring for one more match from Austin. When he retired in 2003 he wasn't even 40 years old yet and fans weren't ready to say goodbye to him. He hasn't had a match since then although every year there are rumors that he'll get back into the ring. It's not just fans that want him back. WWE really wants him back too. There were rumors that he'd be a face against Triple H at WrestleMania 30. According to people like Dave Meltzer, WWE asked Austin. He said no, but the fact that they asked him shows that they still want him in the ring. Why People Believe It: With WWE business being stagnant, they know that one more Austin match would do huge business for the company. It's believable that they would ask him to come back. Should We Believe It: Yes. He probably shot them down pretty quick because it's been over a decade since his last match, but there's also likely a part of him that wonders if he could still be great even after all this time away. We shouldn't expect him to wrestle again because it's been 11 years and he turns 50 years old this December, but wrestling fans will always want to see more from him.
