The Legend: That WWE fired Kharma because she had the temerity to get pregnant while working for the company. The Evidence: Well, it's not without precedent: WWE did fire Dawn Marie while she was in the early stages of her pregnancy in 2005. Marie sued WWE and the case was settled in late 2007. Marie hasn't been seen in WWE since. But is a poorly timed pregnancy the reason for Kharma's release in 2012? Kharma (real name Kia Stevens) revealed in May 2011 that she was pregnant. This news came only one month after WWE had started a big push for her on WWE TV. Obviously Kharma would need to take time out (up to a year) to have the baby and recover before she could come back to work. Unfortunately, Stevens lost the baby although she had claimed that she had given birth to a healthy baby girl. After the miscarriage, she fell into a depression and gained a lot of weight and wasn't in wrestling shape anymore. It was this, apparently, that led to WWE making the decision to let her go in July 2012. Is It True: No, WWE didn't fire Kharma because she got pregnant. She made a surprise appearance while under contract at the 2012 Royal Rumble (her only official WWE match). She was fired for being unable to shift weight while training for her comeback (as well as allegedly having a bad attitude and being difficult to deal with).
