10 Most Over-HATED Wrestlers In The World Right Now

1. Chris Jericho

Criticism of Chris Jericho has cooled off in recent weeks, as the fandom gets used to the veteran in his new role as an unabashed sports entertainer with the Jericho Appreciation Society, though resentment still lingers from the less-than-ideal few months preceding the group's formation.

Jericho was rightly criticised for his suboptimal babyface work prior to this. The perception was that the inaugural AEW World Champion had become an airtime hog, who'd hitched his wagon to Eddie Kingston's immense popularity for their feud, having finally lost his powers of reinvention. The crude verbiage frequently used by Jericho during The Inner Circle's feud with American Top Team didn't help matters, either.

But the JAS proves that the Canadian's reinvention magic is still very much there. Jericho has othered himself in a promotion he helped establish. Outsider heat is timeless and in bunching Daniel Garcia, 2point0, and Jake Hager together and making enemies of AEW's "wrestlers" (in the wrestling territory), Jericho has rediscovered his relevance.

He remains a lightning rod, though. The Jericho Appreciation Society's entire schtick is a sideways jab at WWE and Vince McMahon's contrived wrestling-adjacent product. This will never not stoke the ire of those who don't like being worked - and cannot identify when this is happening.
