10 Most Over-HATED Wrestlers In The World Right Now

2. Adam Cole

If you've spent more than two minutes on Twitter since last September, you can't have missed the over-the-top criticisms of Adam Cole's AEW run.

That Cole isn't being presented as the star he seemingly was in WWE is the crux of the argument. He is being booked like a midcarder, people will tell you. How can he be a big deal when he's working with Orange Cassidy? Cole's booking is terrible, guys. He's a bust! How could he leave NXT for this?!

It takes only the most cursory of glances to disprove this. Cole is received by AEW audiences as one of (if not the) biggest stars in the company, pulling incredible reactions from engaged fans every time he hits the ring. On top of this, he just headlined the company's last pay-per-view and has been embroiled in a major World Championship program for the best part of three months. And beyond the first Hangman Page scrap and the Lights Out fight with Cassidy (which doesn't go on record anyway), he still hasn't been defeated one-on-one.

Midcarder? Hardly.

The arguments have become so absurd that they are barely worth countering anymore. Objectively, Cole is being presented like a big deal in AEW. This has to be acknowledged, even by those who aren't hot on his output.
