9. The Legion Of Doom Return - WrestleMania XIV

The Road Warriors were among the greatest tag teams of the 1980s.

They didn't need to perfect the sublime and inventive cheating of the Brain Busters, nor the protracted sell/hot tag formula of the Rock N' Roll Express. They had an innovation of their own; marching to the ring to the strains of Black Sabbath's Iron Man, they no-sold the flurry of some no-name jobbers before destroying them within seconds. They were possessed of a physical charisma without which the act wouldn't have worked.

Their runs in the WWF were less successful. Like Goldberg after them, Hawk and Animal were cast as just another tag team, tasked with wrestling lengthy, back and forth matches in opposition to what made their act such a hit elsewhere.

Their return to the Stamford fold, at WrestleMania XIV, was touted as a rebirth - they even had shiny new helmets and an a la mode "2000" suffix to put it over the top. Unfortunately, their reintroduction was made in an abysmal, plodding tag team battle royal, populated almost entirely by the more immobile and least popular members of the WWF's fringe roster.

It might have been nice while it lasted - but it went on far too long, even at just shy of ten minutes.
