10 Most Painful-Looking Wrestling Matches Ever

4. Vader Vs. Cactus Jack - WCW Saturday Night, April 24, 1993

Making his third appearance on the list, this is perhaps the most unholy of the violent Vader trinity.

Bad things happened when Cactus Jack and Vader shared a ring. Bad, incredible things. Jack lost his ear in a match held one month prior to this in Germany. Some six months later, they wrestled - fought/survived - an incredibly punishing war at Halloween Havoc. This match was something beyond even one of the stiffest, most painful-looking ever; it was a veritable video nasty that triggered the broadcasting network to censor its most infamous moment, in which, after his manager Harley Race peeled back the ringside matting, Vader powerbombed Jack onto exposed concrete after several minutes of the sort of sadomasochism Vader and Jack called a pro wrestling encounter.

Nothing detracts from the unspeakable power of the moment.

You can see Vader's right hand attempt to gently control Jack to the floor, but it hardly mattered. He took a back, neck and back of the head-first bump onto the most unforgiving surface manufactured by man. In its aftermath, rather than portraying him as a figure of guts and sympathy, he was repackaged as an amnesiac goof.
