Though WrestleMania 29 proved WWE's own "Once In A Lifetime" branding false, it did usher in an 11th WWE Title reign for John Cena that had him doing everything to make those around him look better post-Rock. In the 133 days Cena enjoyed in 2013, he worked hard to help make stars rather than coast on his own star power.

That's to be commended, even if the Ryback experiment didn't end up working.

Still, the 'Big Guy' should be praised for showing his main event chops in a 'Last Man Standing' match at Extreme Rules and an underrated 'Three Stages Of Hell' epic at Payback the next month. Both bouts showed Ryback's chops and Cena's work ethic. That same desire to have great matches would come in handy later that summer.

Before bowing out of the title scene to Daniel Bryan (and cleanly) at SummerSlam, Cena successfully worked a short program with Mark Henry. Indeed, the part he played in Henry's faked retirement angle in June made the turn special, and they had a better-than-expected match at Money In The Bank.
