10 Most Polarising Undertaker Moments Ever
7. 'Killing' Paul Bearer
2013 wasn't the first time WWE's creative team had handled Paul Bearer's part in The Undertaker's story poorly, and it would end up being far from the worst.
That 'achievement' must go to 2004, a time during which Undertaker was experiencing somewhat of a rebirth; re-introduced as undead at WrestleMania XX, 'Taker ditched his bad ass biker leanings to revert back to a more traditional gimmick.
The portly Bearer came along for the ride and was once again by his charge's side as his manager and mouthpiece, and this gave things an immediate old-school vibe that somehow seemed fresh after several years away.
That's when 'Taker himself decided to kill Bearer off at the Great American Bash in June by pulling a lever that filled Paul's glass crypt with concrete; as ridiculous as it sounds, Undertaker's slow-moving handicap match against The Dudley Boyz that preceded this segment was the show's main event.
Complaints reportedly flooded in, and people were horrified that WWE had simulated a murder sequence on pay-per-view. Worse, 'Taker's betrayal didn't make any sense whatsoever when Paul re-emerged on TV in September, 2010.
