8. Did Jon Moxley Join The Inner Circle? (4.2 Million Views)

The 8 January 2020 edition of Dynamite saw The Inner Circle trying to recruit Jon Moxley to the fold in dramatic fashion after offering him a Ford GT (owned by Tony Khan’s father Shad in real-life), a truckload of money and 49% ownership of The Inner Circle brand.

The wait-and-see angle winds up having Moxley at first saying ‘yes’ to the offer, with the IC celebrating with a little bit of the bubbly and giving Mox the keys to a $750,000 red Lamborghini. Mox then grabs the mic to reveal he was joking, declaring the only thing he wants from The Inner Circle is Jericho’s AEW World Championship. So Mox smashes a bottle of the bubbly over Jericho’s head (which looks absurdly awesome) and takes him out with the Paradigm Shift DDT along with one for Sammy Guevara for good measure. Jon retreats into the crowd as Jake Hager chases him off and humorously holds an unconscious Jericho in his arms and screams “Moxley!”

The angle felt very nostalgic/old school but set in the modern era, with Mox being the time-honoured babyface going against the odds and despicable heels. Mox looked reinvigorated after wasting away in WWE for months. This angle was everything Dean Ambrose wasn’t.
