10 Most Protected WWE Finishing Moves Ever
7. Red Arrow - Neville
It's a gorgeous move, the Red Arrow, and one that causes a savage blow to the airways of its recipients.
Unlike other acclaimed top-rope match-enders, such as the Superfly Splash or the Coup de Grace, there is the added element of Neville - a cruiserweight masquerading as a heavyweight - twisting his body in a corkscrew manner, therefore increasing the velocity with which he is diving. Take a gander at any time he's used the move and you'll notice that the story is the same across the board; a three count and, perhaps, a crushed lung.
So brilliantly-minded is Neville as a pro wrestler, though, he rarely resorts to the Red Arrow when portraying a heel. This would be too much in the way of fan indulgence, hence why he adopted the Rings of Saturn as his primary finisher when he transformed into 'The King of the Cruiserweights' in 2016.
Astonishingly, the Red Arrow has never been kicked out of either, not on the big stages of WWE and AEW anyway. The closest anyone has come was when Seth Rollins placed his foot on the bottom rope during their acclaimed WWE World Heavyweight Championship collision, or when referee Bryce Remsburg mistook a kickout during PAC's match vs. Trent Beretta in AEW's early days, leading PAC to instead cinch in the Brutalizer.
A proper kickout, though, is yet to have been witnessed on these grand stages.
