The renegade faction that at times allegedly made life hell for those above and below them on the WWE totem pole, Shawn Michaels, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Sean Waltman and Paul Levesque were lightning rods for controversy during a time Vince McMahon needed it least.

The Chairman may have carried the bravado and swagger of The Fonz in the 1980s, but he wasn’t experiencing too many happy days by the middle of the following decade. The confidence he carried walking free from the trial of his life in 1994 had dissolved by ’95, with the fearsome five some even once halting a house show in order to strong-arm a booking summit with the once unflappable leader.

The drastically changing personal lives of the quintet since then resulted in all of them gradually nestling closer than ever into WWE’s bosom. In the case of one notable big-nosed star, quite literally. Triple H marrying in has helped assure the future of the company for when (if?) Vince departs this mortal coil. Hall of Fame inductions for Michaels, Hall and Nash (with one eventually certain for Waltman) have turned into suited and booted Kliq love-fests as a result.
