10 Most Ridiculous Hulk Hogan Matches Ever

10. Hogan & Eric Bischoff VS. Jay Leno & DDP - WCW Road Wild 98

For some reason, Hulk Hogan and Diamond Dallas Page couldn’t settle their beef by themselves. They needed to align themselves with basketball players or middle-aged talkshow hosts to battle each other.

While Dennis Rodman and Karl Malone were a bit goofy to have as partners, they at least looked physically fit and were cool at the time. Involving Jay Leno in a wrestling angle was funny. But not "ha ha" funny. More sad funny.

Even in the late '90s, Leno was pretty lame. Sure, he was the king of latenight, but he was what your parents watched before they went to bed. He was like a glass of warm milk. The man also didn’t have an ounce of athletic ability in him. WCW did many ridiculous things during its last few years, but Hogan having to sell a Leno arm bar in front of thousands of bikers at Sturgis has to be near the top.

The match did get the mainstream publicity that Eric Bischoff craved, but going from Hulk Hogan and the Outsiders invading WCW, to Hogan battling Leno and Kevin Eubanks within the span of two years was comically bad, and made the company look like the wrestling promotion your parents would watch before they went to bed.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
