10 Most Ridiculous Oversells In Wrestling History

2. Shawn Michaels (Vs Hulk Hogan, SummerSlam 2005)

From the sublime to the ridickheadedness, Mr Perfect's platinum put-over of Bret Hart's offence contrasts starkly with Shawn Michaels' pedantic p*ss take of just about everything Hulk Hogan did at SummerSlam 2005.

But is this match a case of two wrongs making a right?

The facts are these; Hulk Hogan had apparently tentatively agreed to a couple of matches with 'HBK' before he brother brothered his way all the way out the company again immediately after the show. For the benefit of their angle at the time, Shawn Michaels had already spent the past month channelling the 1990s pr*ck that had lay dormant since finding God years earlier. It was that dayglo devil that sat on his shoulder as he walked to the ring for the mammoth main event.

Michaels' big boot bouncearound is the pick bump of the bunch, but the entire match is a vision of one man making a mockery of some of the industry's most iconic offence. It's hugely, hugely unprofessional - much like Hogan's own wilting when it came time to return some favours against 'The Showstopper' later down the line. Neither probably cared too much about the ordeal 24 hours later, so call it a draw.

If only that had happened in the following match...
