8. “Razor Ramon” & “Diesel” Are The Same

Poor Jim Ross looked like his eye test was long overdue when he re-introduced "Razor Ramon" and "Diesel" to WWF fans in late-1996. The surly announcer claimed that these goofs in discount Halloween costumes were the exact same characters once played by Scott Hall and Kevin Nash before they bolted to WCW.

This wasn't some inside joke designed to put more heat on JR's heel gimmick either - Vince McMahon really thought he could push Rick Bognar and pre-Kane Glenn Jacobs onto TV as Razor and Diesel without anyone batting an eyelid. It was a gross miscalculation from the boss, and an example of pure arrogance.

It bombed. Obviously.

"Razor" and "Diesel" tried their best, but no-one bought them as successors. Imagine AEW had debuted someone unknown as Cody Rhodes when he departed for WWE earlier this year, then tried to pretend that he was exactly the same human being. That's the kind of thing we're talking here!
