10 Most Ridiculous Things Wrestling Expected You To Believe

7. Chavo Guerrero = White Supremacist

"Tried to pretend he was exactly the same human being".

WWE didn't do that when they repackaged Chavo Guerrero as Kerwin White in 2005. No, the creative team attempted a bold reinvention of the wrestler by reimagining him as a white supremacist who denounced his own well-known heritage weekly.

It's bad enough when wrestling tries to use racism as a means to get heat, but it was a whole new level of awful when WWE flitted between pretending that Kerwin was Chavo with a change to claiming he was a brand spanking new man who had no ties to the Guerrero family at all. Which one was it?! It didn't matter, because both ideas were depressing.

The Kerwin character only lasted a few months before Chavo returned to his old self. Eddie's death was largely responsible for that, but hopefully everyone realised that White wasn't working out anyway. It was actually really insulting to the audience.
