10 Most Ridiculous Things Wrestling Expected You To Believe

2. Certain Gimmick Bouts Are Legally Binding

Hey, remember when WWE claimed that a custody of a child could definitely be decided during a SummerSlam ladder match? That Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio storyline was conveniently forgotten when little Dominik grew up and started training to become a pro rassler himself.

It isn't the only example of such gimmick bout lunacy either.

Check this out: Lita gets pregnant > Matt Hardy is happy > Kane reveals that he's the father > Matt Hardy is sad > Kane wins a match at SummerSlam 2004 and thus marries Lita > Lita has a miscarriage > Kane is sad > WWE expects people to feel sorry for a character they'd painted as an actual rapist.

The angle would've been hair-raising enough without claims that pay-per-view match results for things like child custody and/or forced marriage could be legally binding. Also, objectifying Lita by making her the trophy is absolutely ghastly and just shouldn't have happened.
