10 Most Ridiculous WWE Booking Decisions Of 'The New Era'
6. Charlotte Flair's NXT Title Run
WrestleMania 36 was an undoubted success, given the circumstances surrounding the bulk of 2020, and one of the more intriguing storylines going into The Show Of Shows surrounded the NXT Women's Championship.
The match was great. The idea of Charlotte Flair, Royal Rumble winner, choosing the NXT Championship to go after was great. Having Flair win the match was... interesting, but could have been potentially great. What happened afterwards was a complete waste of everybody's time.
Rhea Ripley floundered for a while on the main roster, and Charlotte had five matches in NXT; two non-title victories, a DQ loss to Io Shirai with the belt on the line, a tag team match, and finally the Triple Threat at TakeOver: In Your House 2020 where she dropped the title to Shirai.
All those dream matches between Flair and literally anyone on the NXT roster at the time, the potential to see The Queen return to rule the black and gold brand, even freeing up Ripley to tear up the main roster in Charlotte's absence; all of that potential, wasted.
