10 Most Shocking Appearances Of Blood In The PG Era

6. Randy Orton (Money In The Bank 2014)

Enzo Amore
WWE Network

WWE will often show wrestlers falling from terrifying heights or collapsing to the mat in exhaustion in an effort to exhibit the physical torture superstars brave in their efforts to claim the Money In The Bank briefcase, but the ladders they use to reach the literal and figurative heights have provided some of the more gruesome moments in recent company history.

Looking like the victim of a horror home movie, Randy Orton was bathed in his own blood after one of the multiple ladders in play clattered into his head following a failed attempt to reach the prize.

He presumably deemed the risk worth the reward, with the hanging article in this variant of the match being Daniel Bryan's recently vacated WWE World Heavyweight Title. Ironically, it was that prize he'd claimed from the 'Yes Man' just under a year earlier having won the 2013 iteration of the multi-man clash.

Thankfully dodging a concussion at least, Orton posted pictures of the grim laceration online afterwards, noting how he needed 12 stitches to close the chasm after the match.

Equal parts gut-wrenching and gutsy, it turned out that 'The Viper's wound fell exactly one stitch short of a similar knock suffered exactly 12 months earlier...
