10 Most Shocking Kick Outs In WWE History

9. Steve Austin - WrestleMania XIX

Steve Austin's career was one of the most impactful in the history of the business. He helped lead the WWF through the Monday Night Wars and into the promised land in which it resides today.

So when Austin decided it was time to ride off into the sunset after WrestleMania XIX, it was a big deal for business as well as the man himself. With very few aware of his impending retirement, Austin wanted to go out in a blaze of glory and, with his career-rival The Rock standing opposite him, he did just that.

While Austin and Rock had both utilised the art of the false finish during their bouts over the years, it was done sparingly - and when it did happen, it was reserved for a special occasion and a big match scenario. As the final chapter in their epic feud, the two rivals knew they had to deliver something big, something unique and something fitting of the occasion.

Trading several finishers and even using their opponent's own finishing moves as well, they made the bout seem truly monumental. Austin's ability to kick out of two Rock Bottoms and a People's Elbow made for an epic conclusion and a fitting exit for the 'Bionic Redneck'.
