10 Most Shocking Revelations From WWE In 2019
5. CM Punk Has Been Secretly Wrestling For Years
The narrative around CM Punk in 2020 is destined to be "When Will He FINALLY Return To The Ring??" but 2019 was the year that it actually happened... Sort of, anyway.
In a quite extraordinary event that, admittedly, still hasn't been confirmed by the man himself, Punk ran an interference spot at an MKE show in West Allis, Wisconsin back in April. Wearing a mask and dressed in all black, he took advantage of a ref bump to hit his patented Go To Sleep on Daryck St. Holmes in front of a sell out crowd of around 300 people?
The event took place only minutes away from another wrestling event where Punk was photographed wearing what looked to be identical clothing. Naturally, this led to a firestorm of reports that he was either set to make an imminent return to WWE, or announce that he'd signed with the upstart AEW. In the end, neither transpired.
Following some digging from the wrestling media though, it turned out that Punk had been doing things like this for years. If he's done it since then, he's been considerably more subtle.
