10 Most Shocking Revelations From WWE In 2020

5. Raw Underground

For when "shocking" doesn't always mean "good", Raw Underground's sudden existence was one of the sillier moments from a period of backstage tumult that itself has become too familiar to bring up in articles like this now.

We're long removed from the days of hearing odds and sods about Vince McMahon throwing his headset down in disgust or delivering b*llockings about Mick Foley's commentary so vicious that the 'Hardcore Legend' walked away from the role. This sh*t is weekly now, on the show you like and the one you don't, as if bringing Bruce Prichard back was really an act of revenge for revealing the story about him following through on a fart.

Anyway, one week Raw was so on it's a*se that McMahon listened to a "SICK!" pitch from his arrested development son and set a spare ring up in the Performance Center's dirtiest room where wrestlers could fight without rules, regulations and - most notably - stakes. Shane was the host, but were we asked to think this had been happening all along without him telling us until now? He didn't tell us why it left when it did, without notice, just nine weeks later.

It didn't look like WWE, but it didn't look like f*cking Fight Club either, save for a few performative fans arguing how good it was.
