10 Most Shocking Revelations From WWE In 2020

2. The Undertaker Bids Final Farewell

You'll not be judged here if you don't believe this one. Your writer certainly doesn't. But, for all the justifiable cynicism out there for yet another supposed sendoff to The Undertaker, WWE managed to whip up such a furore around his Survivor Series "Final Farewell" that it was hard not to view this one in as revelatory terms as his well-received Network docuseries.

There, he'd opened up about the push and pull between his body and his mind and the quest for the last great match. He also opened up wardrobe, which was a shame, but in between the endless "you know" fillers, there was a lot of uncertainty and regret from a man routinely celebrated as the company's chief in-ring pillar.

Astonishingly, he seemed happy to treat the well-regarded WrestleMania Boneyard Match with AJ Styles as a fitting finale. WWE dusted off the likes of Savio Vega and The Godwinns to...stand in the ring for a minute in one of their deepest pulls for company alumni in years. Facing off with a Paul Bearer hologram rather than one last opponent, there was definite air of contentment about it - unless that was Vince McMahon smelling his own farts.

The Hall Of Fame beckons and 'The Deadman' can't grumble if people don't believe this really is it, but we could definitely all do with a rest from it - in peace or otherwise.
